BUT I paired the lamps directly without the Ikea remote control (if you have the gateway you actually pair the lamps with the remote control and the remote control with the gateway). I have an echo plus and 5 tradfri e14 bulbs and the Alexa app will not discover them. I also have a hue bulb and it picked that up straight away.
